Early 2017 I made a blog post detailing my goals for 2017. Let's see how many of them I actually achieved.
-This goal was a hit and a miss. I did get OBS to work and started streaming on Twitch, however my IRL schedule is so inconsistent that I ended up dropping the platform.
-While I wasn't as prolific as I had envisioned, I did release one new free sewing pattern for Arukanu from Owari No Seraph.
Write a New E-book!
-This goal ended up falling flat. I really should have made writing a higher priority- I only wrote about 60% of the book.
Increase Blogging Output!
-This goal was achieved. Looking back I wrote 26 blog posts in 2016 and 39 in 2017 (not including this one).
And now for the numerical goals:
Do 5 Pattern Review/ Sew-Along Videos!
-I really hit this one out of the park. For Japanese patterns I did three Cosmode reviews (Tama, the Penguindrum Penguin, and Stocking). I also had the goal of doing pattern reviews for American patterns which was very successful with a whopping seven (Charlotte, Taako, Maid Futaba, Peach, Popplio, the Pokeball dress, and Rey). And this isn't even counting Lolita and DIY projects!
Create Items from 5 New Fandoms!
-This goal was blown away as well with eleven new fandoms! (Sailor Moon, Madoka Magica, Mawaru Penguindrum, Aquarion Evol, DC Bombshells, Bakemonogatari, Owari No Seraph, The Adventure Zone, Super Mario Bros, Star Wars, and Fate).
Do 12 Photoshoots!
-Almost hit this one, I did eleven photoshoots which I'm still pretty pleased with.
This concludes the 2017 goal recap, overall I'm pretty happy with what I managed to create this year. There were also a few things that happened that were not mentioned in the 2017 goals blog post but were still very exciting!
-I was sponsored for the first time! A big thank you to Cut/Sew Patternmaking for providing the pattern for my Charlotte cosplay!
-We reached 1.5k subscribers on the Koumori No Hime YouTube channel! Thank you to everyone who watched and supported my projects this year!
-I hosted a Sewing With Japanese Patterns Panel at Otakon 2017!
-Also at Otakon 2017 I received an honorable mention for my Krul Tepes cosplay in the hall costume contest!
-Additionally I moved to a new apartment with a larger crafting area and improved my production quality with a new camera and equipment!
As for my 2018 goals, it's pretty much the same as last year, but on a little bit larger scale.
- Make 15 pattern review/sew alongs.
-Make items from 15 new fandoms.
-Do 12 photoshoots
-Finish a new e-book.
-Revamp the pattern section of my website and add new patterns.
