What's In My Fabric Shopping Bag?
The “What’s In My Bag?” video has been a staple of online beauty gurus for some time now, and I wanted to give it a go with a slight cosplay twist. Today, I’m focusing specifically on what I bring with me when I go fabric shopping.
The bag: I got this purse on clearance from Forever 21 a while ago because it is spacious enough to hold everything I need. It also doubles as my convention bag.
Keys, cellphone, wallet: the usual basics.
Shopping list (+ pen): I like to plan ahead what I need to buy so I don’t forget anything, I also write down the amounts of fabric I need.
Reference photos: I use my kindle for this because I don’t have a smartphone. I like to have character references on hand so I can match colors and patterns of the fabric as I shop.
Coupons: Coupons are a must! Craft supplies can easily add up in price, so I make sure to bring coupons with me. If you have a smartphone, many stores can scan the coupon right from your phone!
Swatches: If you are matching fabric or materials to something you already have at home, bring a swatch (a small piece of fabric) with you as reference.
Camera: A camera can be helpful if you are curious how a fabric looks under a flash or need to take a picture of a material sticker. Most devices come equipped with a camera, so you already have one on hand.
I hope this list was helpful. Is there anything you like to carry in your fabric shopping bag that I missed? Let me know in the comments below!
